“To return to my own trees, I went among them often, acknowledging their presence with a touch of my hand against their trunks.”
~ Ruskin Bond
I have loved capturing the hues and the contours of various trees I come by. Their barks have been a grand metaphor for wise women & men.. beholding years and years of knowledge and growth.. I read somewhere, ‘There is something about a forest that compels introspection…’. Have always felt it. Being close to one. Sitting under one. Just looking at the heights gracing the skies..
This is a compilation of various age old beauties that have crossed my path. 🙂
The dainty Indian Cress carressing the very beautifully hued bark of a tree..
The sheer hues of this bark…so enticing! The luscious pinks…
So wise.. holding many stories within its many folds..
Layered. Patched. Frayed.
The fold. I loved the wave in the middle of this trunk..
I love to see how tree trunks also become home to so many ecosystems.. shrubs.. moss.. ferns.. So beautiful!
Revealing the colourful within..
“There are rich counsels in the trees.” ~Herbert P. Horne
This Eucalyptus was particularly grand.. reaching for the skies and so rich in its shades..
The very beautiful shavings falling from the bark of the Eucalyptus.. Beautiful mauves there..
I found this one having such a gorgeous pattern on its facacde.. weaving in and weaving out..
And the showstopper.. This one had a huge diameter and a magnificient trunk.. Stopped and looked at it for what felt like hours.. what a beauty..
What brilliant peach hues..!
